Safety

1. Report something

If you see something that puts anyone at risk, report it. Message @safetyteam on bChatX, or use the report option on the post, image, room or profile. Include a link to what you saw. Do not download, screenshot or forward illegal images, even to report them: send us the link.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first. In the UK you can also report to CEOP (ceop.police.uk); in the US, to the NCMEC CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org).

2. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is banned everywhere on bChatX, bPics and bWalletX, with no exceptions.
  • When we find it, we remove it, suspend the account, preserve the evidence with restricted access, and report it to NCMEC, the UK National Crime Agency and the Internet Watch Foundation, as the law requires.
  • We do not warn the account holder before reporting.

3. How we check images

  • Uploaded images are checked automatically before they can be shown publicly.
  • Anything flagged by those checks, or reported by a user, is held back and reviewed by a person.
  • If our checking service is unavailable, images are held for review rather than published.
  • The public bPics market stays closed until image-matching against known abuse material is live.

4. Other things we act on

  • Threats, harassment and targeting of private individuals.
  • Sharing intimate images without consent.
  • Scams, impersonation and attempts to take people's keys or funds.
  • Content promoting terrorism or serious violence.

Depending on what happened we remove the content, limit or suspend the account, and where the law requires it, report to the authorities.

5. On-chain content

Some content is written to the Bitcoin SV blockchain and cannot be erased from it. We can and do stop showing it: anything we remove is hidden from bChatX, bPics and bWalletX, and the account that posted it is dealt with as above.

6. Law enforcement

Law enforcement requests can be sent to @safetyteam. We respond to valid legal process and preserve records on request. See also our Privacy Policy and Terms.
